I Remember This

From CTV:

The Canadian dollar reached parity Thursday morning with the U.S. currency for the first time in nearly 31 years.

I was 13 at the time. I remember that the word went around during grade 8 gym class, and for some reason it was taken to be an occasion for high 5s all around, like we'd kicked American ass in hockey.

Nationalism takes strange forms.

See a pattern here? Turdo was PM back in '76. The decline seems to have started around '70 soon after he was first elected, hmm. Then it kept declining for the next 31 years, most of which was under Liberal rule. Hmmmm. Only 10 years under conservatives during that time. But now that there's another Conservative as PM, where's the dollar?

Could you possibly be claiming that the Conservatives are responsible for the US dollar falling into the crapper? Why not give credit where it's due, to the Bush Administration mismanaging their country's debt and starting an expensive, unnecessary, evil war.

Honestly, how did conservatives get a reputation for fiscal management when they are as stupid about money as they are about temperatures?

Especially after all of Mulroney's, Reagan's and Bush II's debts.

It's like everything with Conservatives...be it upholding family values while having toilet sex or claiming Christian morality while lying through their teeth...it's all a façade.

Conservatives are simply liars.
